Answers to Common Questions:
Do you have a list of all Policies & Procedures for Antioch Kids?
You can download our Policies & Procedures Document, which outlines expectations for Volunteers and Parents, here.
Who runs the Antioch Kids Classrooms?
All of our classrooms are run by volunteers with the oversight of our kids pastor, Nikki Hayes.
Each volunteer is required to have a background check, an interview, and a character recommendation from a trusted leader. If you are interested in serving with Antioch Kids, please let us know!
What curriculum is used at Antioch Kids?
We utilize the Orange Curriculum at Antioch Kids.
You can read details of our curriculum and how it is implemented in each classroom here!
Are snacks given in class?
We do not offer snacks in any of our classes.
You are free to send your child in with a water bottle, but please make sure it is marked with their name.
Do you all have a Nursery?
We currently have not re-opened our Nursery classroom but plan on doing so in the near future.
We presently have a need for more volunteers to serve in Antioch Kids in order to have an adequate amount of teachers available for a new class.
There is a nursing mothers/infant room adjacent to the sanctuary.
May I stay in class with my child?
We know that sometimes going to class may be hard for your kiddo! So while we understand the need for occasionally helping your child transition into the room, we do ask that all parents limit their time in our classrooms to just a few minutes in order to reduce any disruption for the other students and the teachers.
If you desire to stay with your child for longer or frequently, we recommend signing up as a volunteer so you can get the full benefit of being a part of our kid’s ministry!
** Is my child ready for the Preschool Room?
We want to ensure that your child has the best possible time while they are with us on Sunday morning. One key part of that is that they are in the appropriate classroom based on their age AND their development / readiness. Some three year olds are more than ready to join the Preschool Classroom while others are not, and that is totally normal!
We do require all children in the Preschool Classroom are potty-trained. We do not have a changing table in the Preschool Classroom nor the same volunteer regulations that are required for diaper-changing children.
Your child should be able to sit still, listen, and focus for at least 5 full-minutes before moving into the Preschool Classroom
